Error Handling
Overview
This wiki entry intends to provide a comprehensive guide for users to understand and resolve the different error messages that they may encounter while using heiARCHIVE. It is important for users to review these possible errors and take appropriate action when necessary.
heiARCHIVE is a system designed to assist you in resolving various types of errors that may arise during its operation. The administration of heiARCHIVE is automatically notified about every error occurrence. If required, users are contacted via email for further clarification or assistance.
Common Errors
No Data Uploaded
This error typically happens when a user closes their package without any data inside. The system provides a recovery option: users can press the "Attempt Fix" button to reopen the package, and then upload their data.
Ingest-Core Issues
An error may occur during the "ingest-core" stage. This often signifies a compatibility issue with the metadata in the ingest system. The administration team will inform their project partners at UB-Heidelberg about the occurrence. UB-Heidelberg will then conduct an investigation and propose a suitable solution.
SDS@HD Specific Errors
Unable to Create Directory
This error arises when a new "Speichervorhaben" is selected for heiARCHIVE. Due to the time it may take for the system to update, the creation of the user's upload destination may be unsuccessful. The system administration will handle such incidents and provide a resolution as soon as possible.
Cannot Read Directory Inside Data Directory
This error occurs when the system lacks read, write, and execute permissions for the data directory inside the user's "SV". Users are advised to ensure they have granted these permissions. To recover from this error, the "Attempt Fix" button can be used to reopen the package. Additionally, the command chmod -R 777 should be applied to the moved data (data/*).
